What is the best "reason" (excuse?) you've given your husband/partner/significant other when arriving home with yet more fabric? 5 Replies

I'm lucky, my husband doesn't say much about it, but I do feel the need to justify myself sometimes. I usually say "It was a really good price and I know I'll use it". Not very creative really.

I am known as fabricrazed in other social media. My standard rule of practice is to buy 3 yards for any fabric that has not intended purpose at the time. But has spoken to me so loudly that I could not leave it in the store. The vision for the fabric seems to come to me at a later date.

i am finally back on!! i have been off the site for many months. things have been busy here! i am considering trying a quilt top or baby blanket. does anyone have any scraps they want to get rid of? i would take pieces as long as they are big enough to cut 2 inch squares or 2 inch strips. i love cheery pastels if anyone has any to get rid of! if it might be a possiblility, give me a reply. thanks.

Hi, I'm new to this group. I'm not necessarily a fabric addict, but did just come home from a fabric store where I spent over an hour just looking at, touching, and imagining what I could make with the fabrics. I want to make satin or silk pillowcases for myself and for my mother for the haircare advantages of reduced breakage, moisture retention, etc. I used to own a satin pillowcase, and I must say my hair was in much better condition. My mother insists that they must be made of silk charmeuse. After doing some research on the net I found that either silk or satin works. So I will make silk for her and satin for myself. My question is, does anyone know which type of satin is better for making pillowcases?? Light, medium, or heavy weight?? 100% polyester? or a blend? I also posted this question in the Home Decorating group, but I think it may be better answered here.

Check out the Keepsake Quilting website for Pez candy fabric. I just got a new catalog with an order and there are several Pez prints in it.

@ Diana, I started a discussion on Scrap Quilt Patterns over in the Hand and Machine Quilting Group. I posted some links there. Maybe others will too. Here's the like to that thread.

Hi, my name is Diana and I am new to this forum. Can you direct me to any free patterns that use up small scraps in a scrap quilt size. I do a lot of charity quilting and I have a lot of stash but am not normally a scrap quilter. I would like to be, just do not have that imagination side of my brain working.
Patty Rice Comment by Patty Rice on July 30, 2009 at 8:15am
Hi, my name is Patty and I am a fabric addict. There, it's out. I like buying it, touching it and there are some very vintage pieces I have that I don't want to cut into so I think I'll use the tip to frame a portion of it and make something special for myself with the rest of it. Well, it is nice to have joined yet another wonderful group.
