I have the Ellegante, and love how easy a babylock is to use.
Really impressed with the Ellisimo, so much extra features.
I would love to update, but haveto wait awhile before I do.

Have the Ellegante, just bought it, learning to use it, need some classes. :) It sews like a dream. I'm having some problem with monogramming I will have to take a class to learn the tricks of the trade.

I can't help you with monogramming, classes will help.
Babylock has there workbooks, the manuals for the machines are pretty good.
But the workbooks go more into details, they usually have them boxed up and wrapped. But maybe your dealer will open it up so you can see the information.
they are also on sale for 25% off this months 5/31.
Here they sale for $79.99
You might want to check into the workbooks, I have one and use all the time.
They have another for all there accessories that are nice.
Hope you enjoy your Ellegante, I really like mine.
So easy to get caught up in the new TOL.

Thanks Donna, I look into the workbooks.

There worth it, have all the settings to set up, the stitch width/length.
Shows you how to sew with the presser foot etc, the accessor book is also good. Both are a good team. I wouldn't be with out mine.
BL this months are on sale. Make sure you get on the BL news letter, they send out notices. Now they have the circular foot thats out. I think the price I hear is $75.00 most of there feet are under $40.00
I have a Bernina, they are expensive. I wait until there's a sale.

I will be happy to help you out any time, just let me know.

Thanks for the BL info, I'll sign up for their new letter tonight. I also have a Bernina, (from 1980's). It is still going strong and I like it but yes you are right their feet and other stuff is expensive. Before I bought my BL Ellegante I looked at the Bernina but didn't think it was as user friendly and the software was much more expensive.
I have been free-style quilting all day today and just love my machine. It makes me happy. :)

I have a Bernina 730, find the BL is so much easier for emb especially for centering. I'm making a baby quilt, and having so much fun doing all the emb in each squares. This is my 2nd quilt.

Hi, Am leartning my qay arounf here. Have a BL Ellure Plus, , Wave Serger, CoverLock, and Needle Felter ( Over the last 7 years). My favorite store helped with my other machines and sold BL and other brands. Love these machines!! Am just an intermediate sewer but am getting better. Do all kinds of sewing, but am hesitant with embroidery.(BAD experience with another brand and store)
Comment by donna on May 23, 2009 at 10:41pm
Don't let the bad experience of embroidery stop you! Once you get started you will love the embroidery process.
Once you do, there are always fun classes you can learn with your emb machine.
