Hi, I'm new to the group 5 Replies

I have owned a Babylock Ellageo for a little over a year and LOVE it. I have made many projects; one thing I want to try soon is freestanding lace (when I get the time).

Sorry, I don't have any other suggestions. I am sure with determination you will figure it out. Step away for a bit and then try coming back to it. Sometimes that works for me.

Thanks Chris yes I tried the website but got nowhere and no I don't think we have a dealer in my area. I changed the needle and got it to sew a few stitches but then the thread broke.I changed the thread but it still breaks.Maybe eventually I'll figure it out!

Looks interesting, but sorry can't help you. Maybe you can find an online manual that you can download. I found a manual for one of my older kenmore's that way. Just a thought. Have you visited a Baby Lock Dealer? They may be able to help you on the spot.
Good luck!

Hello ladies, does anyone own a Baby Lock BL-101 blind hemmer? I bought one at a yard sale in excellent condition but there was no book so I'm trying to thread it with no luck.I have tried different ways but the thread just balls up on top of the fabric. The feed dog works fine.

This is the same machine I have I found a pic online. It's very clean, looks brand new.It has a tension knob on the left side, depth knob on the front, and a skip knob whatever that is! I'm hoping someone has this machine and can walk me through the threading process, it would be greatly appreciated.
I have ordered the book but will be 2 weeks before it gets here.
Thanks
Kay

Judy thank you for the tip. I had been working with fleece before this piece so I changed the needle and gave the machine a wipe around the bobbin case. I will take it all apart and clean thoroughly and let you know the outcome. Thanks to you all for the comments. I really appreciate you taking the time. Karen

Good Morning Everyone! I am new to this group and excited to have found this website! I have an Babylock Ellageo and I use it all the time! I have thought about upgrading...but then I don't know how to part with this machine! LOL! I love to sew everything that isn't alive and walking and I get depressed when I go days without being able to put my foot to the pedal! Today I am experimenting with a wing needle.....I have a great new idea I want to try out! :0)

When fabric gets stuck down inside the machine while I am sewing it's a sure sign it's time for me to clean the bobbin case and race....that has solved my problem every time. If the needle and throat place don't fix the problem maybe that will. <3

Fingers crossed for you Karen! :D

Thank you, I did put a new needle in but will check to see if I have a single hole throat plate and give that a try. Karen
Chris Comment by Chris on May 27, 2010 at 9:41am
could it be the needle you are using that is pushing the fabric down? Try a new needle and if you have the option to use a single hole throat plate that might help as well.

I don't work much with stretchy fabrics as I do more quilting so hope this helps.
