Hello, just was looking through the group list & saw the Buttons group. I too will purchase garments at thrift stores just for the buttons. The ironic thing is I hate sewing button holes but love the cute designs buttons come in. Have been doing a lot of foux holes with the buttons sewn to them for accent.
Right now I have a rubbermade containger just for the buttons I have, was given some of them by my grandma (who is gone now) so I will look throught them and think of her... I like the idea of a button purse - would be great use for the ones she gave me that I do not want to get rid of! Thanks for the inspiration!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hello! I have in one container alone 12 lbs of buttons. I have glass jars sitting on my fridge full of buttons, old cigar boxes...well, you get the picture!

My love of buttons began about 60 years ago when my grandmother gave me a huge dull needle with thread, and allowed me to play in her button box. I was thrilled when I was given some of her buttons after her death. I sometimes will buy cheap garments at yard sales just to get the buttons!

I haven't made a purse with just buttons but I do love to accent my purse with them. I have one I made called "Vintage" that I used antique looking heart buttons on the top band of the purse.

I have thought about a button purse as well but have never got around to making one.

Love buttons too. So easy for children to accessorise their bags and clothes...I have pots of them. Theres something so relaxing about sewing them on...or just looking at my button jars on my shelf ...or just touching them!!

Hi, has anyone made a button purse? I've thought about it but it didn't go any further than a thought. I just can't imagine sewing lots of buttons on, even though I love them. Buttons
