Hi I am from Moose Jaw Sk. I love to sew. My husband and I drive long haul semi in Canada and all 48 states in the US. I take my one portable sewing machine with me on the road and have been known to quilt on a table in the bunk while my husband is driving! I also have a hoop for hand quilting stashed in the truck so I can do that on the move also.

Well hello there to ALL the Canadian ladies that know how to sew up a storm. It is nice to see that we are still on the road . It would be good if sewing and cooking came back on the scenes within the school walls. I know that it needs to be taught but the question is that it is an art learned at home by mom, gramma or whoever desires to take the time to willing hearts. Be encouraged all you people who love the needle and pins in creating simply out of love.

Glad to had found this group. I am in the Toronto area-North York to be exact. Have been sewing for a long time but I did take time off when my kids were in the late elementary, high school years. Seemed to be on the road for some sport during that time. Learned to knit while at arenas.
I have taught Family Studies fairly recently. The kids actually loved it--but in the school system(elementary) its is a very expensive program. But my school kept its Family Studies room and its D&T(shop) and were willing to invest the money required. Machines are not cheap if they are to stand up to 600 kids and buying the groceries for cooking can get expensive as well for that many kids:))

I have had my own sewing business since 1998. I live in a little place called Ingersoll On. which is just outside of London On. I sew 6 days a week and I still have sewing at the end of the day. Not sure why I am so successful maybe because the need is great , prices are right or whatever. I am retired as of last year but I continue to do what I love. The name of my business is called A Stitch In Time Saves Nine .

Hi, I'm Debbie from Orillia, Ontario. I've been doing crafts as long as I can remember. I can't just sit and watch TV - I have to be making something! Right now I'm self-employed as a wedding decorator and wedding dress maker. I just started doing dresses professionally, I've been making clothes for friends for years. It's nice to be able to chat with other Canadians!

Hi everyone. I am Mary from Middle Musquodoboit, Nova Scotia. I have been sewing for over 40 yrs. I'm not sure if that is good or bad but there you have it. I try to do something sewing related almost every day. I also enjoy crewel work. I enjoy and appreciate knitting as well but don't have the patience for it. It's nice to meet everyone. : )

Hi.I'm Rosemary from PEI.I've been sewing for many years.Lately it's just been quilting or mending but I am about to tackle my own and my grand daughter's dresses for our youngest daughter's wedding. She brought beautiful silk materials from India for everyone involved in the celebration.
