Union Star, Mo., woman sews tiny fashions for fun

Grace Davidson doesn’t have to look far to see a friendly face. Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Belle, Snow White, several Barbies and dozens of Cabbage Patch boys and girls give her constant smiles from across the room as she sews at her kitchen table.

“Isn’t she cute?” Mrs. Davidson says, holding up a Kewpie doll wearing a fancy red-and-white pinafore dress. “I just got her done.”

The dress on the Kewpie doll has been sewn to perfection. Every stitch, every seam is as straight — if not straighter — than you would find in a store. As well it should be. Mrs. Davidson has been sewing most all of her life, and in February that will be 94 years. Although her hearing is not what it used to be, she still has 20/20 vision and can thread a needle with ease... continue
