Sew, What's New?

Curating sewing and quilting talent, techniques, and tutorials, since 1997.

Ruching is a French term which means to gather, ruffle, or pleat. Ruching is a sewing technique in which fabric or ribbon is gathered in a repeating pattern to form ruffles, scallops, or petals. Jackie of "Teal & Lime" made "petals" by ruching this tree skirt in less than an hour using a 70″ round table cloth. Clever!

See how she did it.
