"Hello everyone. I am new to the list and I have a problem with tension on my Sapphire 870.
I am attempting to free motion quilt a quilt that I am doing in 4 sections. I am definitely not new to free motion as I was doing it before it was really popular, back in the Harriet Hargrave hey days. My stitch on top is beautiful but on the bottom it is pulling the top threads to the back. I am using the auto-pilot feature, have the speed set at about half, and the settings as follows:Sensor foot-Auto, Free Motion Spring Action, also tried Free motion floating. Have tried both80 & 90 Schmetz needles, have my free motion foot on and feed dogs lowered. I am using YLI Glazed 100% cotton thread. I really hope some of you gals who have had Huskvarna machines for a while can help me out. This is my first one. I have had a Bernina, several older Singers, Janome and a Brother. Thanks for any help you might give me. Jackie
P. S. I have changed the tension back and forth several notchs w/no change."

Well duh: I am ;totally embarrassed at my ignorance. It finally ocurred to me to try a different thread. When I put
mq thread in bobbin and top my stitch was perfect. Just does not pay to get up some days. Thanks anyway. Jackie
Hi Jackie,
Don't feel bad - we all have days like that.
Glad to hear you solved the problem.
