Need Help with the Lining of a Blouse
Hi, I bought some Vera Wang silk from Fabric.com, that I am now making into a sleeveless blouse with front pleats and tucks, Butterick B5354. The material is much more sheer than I remember and I was thinking about lining it but dont know how to do that with the pleats and tucks. Any ideas? Also since the material is so sheer can I use the same material for the lining? It sure wouldn't be any thicker than a lining fabric.

I would use the same fabric, but cut it from a pattern you make with what you get when you've folded out all the pleats. Should work fine.

Sometimes sheer ready-to-wear blouses have a cami sewn in, rather than a full lining.
Maybe a simple cami pattern could be sewn in something soft like crepe or jersey. Then just tack the shoulder straps to the inside of the shoulder seams of the blouse to keep it in place.
