Refashion & Recycle

The great thing about recycled and refashioned clothing is the way that old clothes, styles and fabrics inspire the designers to create something gorgeous and new.

I saw a lovely on Nancy's Notions (.com).  I can't attest to it's value, as I've never used one, but it looked interesting.

Does anyone know where to buy a fabric stripper? Making rag rugs from sheets bought for pennies at a yard sale.

My 2 new projects recycling shirts (denim and other). With the front and back I make a fabric shopping bag/tote. I use the pocket on the front of the bag. There is usually enough fabric ends to make the carry handle. With the sleeves, keeping the cuff intact, I make a bottle bag for carrying your favourite wine when going out to a friend's. I'm still improving the look of the bottle bag.

I went to a local Salvation Army store and bought a men's long sleeve dress shirt for $2. I came home, washed and dried it, and started cutting. I made a halter top for my daughter to wear around the house. I love it, and for 2 bucks????? Well, enough said!

I have about 7 pairs of boys' pants with rip in one or both knees. Some of the rips are quite large -- and some go lengthwise as well as horizontal. I'm not keen on the patches in my local shop, but I also hate to throw out the otherwise-still-good pants -- any suggestions?
thank you!

HeyJudee: Thank you for the links. I'm surprised that I didn't see it at Canadian Living - it's one of my favourite sites.
