Hi Sandi!

I just started locker hooking this past week and am really enjoying it. I like the fact that I can use up some of my fabric stash doing this. Right now I'm just doing random colors, trying to get the hang of the technique, as soon as I feel confident in that I will try doing a pattern.
Maybe some day I will try conventional rug hooking - my son-in-law's grandma gave my daughter a beautiful hooked rug for a wedding gift and it was really a work of art.

I've heard of locker hooking but not sure what it is...how do you do that type of hooking?

Wish I knew someone who could show me how to do hooking!!! I'm a very visual person and don't learn something new very well just by reading a book... more a "hands on" kinda gal!

I've never taken a class, and i'm more of a visual learner, like you...
Have you looked around your area for a rug hooking group, or class? Also, there are videos out there on the web with tutorials for rug hooking...I learned a lot from Gene Shepherd's CD,

I live in a VERY rural community... have to drive over an hour just to attend quilt guild meetings each month! Also, because we live in such a rural location we get charged for downloads, so videos are OUT. Ah! The joys of country livin'!!! ;-)
