Carolina G's Sew Exceptional Comment by Carolina G's Sew Exceptional on December 11, 2010 at 2:14am

I have found that I really like unique children's patterns; those you don't see everyday.  I am enjoying "Sewing with Whimsy", Oliver +S patterns, as well as patterns from Children's Corner.  I also like to mix and match patterns.  Are there any unique patterns others have found?

Thanks Jodijean, Cori, and Sew4my3 for your information. I knew I would get great info from all here. Now I have to do some cruisin on these sites. I will keep you updated on what I decide. I may need you all to help me decide:) I need to get crackin on this before the little people get to big and I wind up with not enough fabric to make for both of them. LOL

owly baby on etsy has a really cute coat pattern too:

OR ... froglegsandponytails has a cute little vest
http://www.etsy.com/listing/61921046/alex-lined-vest-unisex-pdf-sewing

those are just the first 2 patterns that popped into my head

i wish i had some cute outerwear patterns for ya, but lately all my patterns have been for knits ... i do have a vest pattern but it's lined and reversible. http://www.etsy.com/listing/60685311/reversible-vest-pdf-sewing-pat...
you could always sew it with some lapped seams and raw edges (1 layer, not lined) ... so they suede is on one side and the sherpa on the other ... does that make sense?

good luck patricia!!

You might want to browse the ottobre design magazines. The winter issues always have some outerwear and they have designs for girls and boy in all sizes. Have fun with your outerwear, it's on my list too :-)

Hello Particia!
What neat fabric! There is a person on etsy "Dear my kids easywear" that has some great little coat and jacket patterns. Just go here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/dmkeasywear?ref=seller_info
Maybe one of those will be suitable for your vision. Let me know how it works out. Happys sewing!

Hello everyone. I am seeking your help with a project. I purchase some fabric to make jackets/coats for my grandlittle people. The fabric has sherpa on one side and suede on the other. Looking for a cute pattern for a boy and girl. I have not seen anything I like particularly for the boy. Anyone have any suggestions for me?

Ok Sew4my3 I just took a look and it is most identical. But it says it is a PDF ONLY....ugh *pulling my hair out*. hahaha. basically it was free pattern so I am trying to stay humble :)

Maybe I should have specified the "stand alone" European patterns don't use any font similar to that. I have the first edition SCKL with tissue paper patterns. They do use a 'cuter' font but every piece has the pattern name in large font on it. Nancy (fledge) has been known to use heart/star to show where 2 pieces should match up.

I'm mostly with Jodi, if it looks like a complete pattern and something you'd like then I'd sew it, otherwise I'd send it straight to the recycle.

maybe this site would help too.

Ill check the site out Sew4my3. And Corie does have a point with font. This one has hearts. The paper is the same as a Studio Tantrum also when I took it out AGAIN it has the label with FLEDGE written on it just like the Studio Tantrum patterns sooooo very cofusing. More investigating to do.
