"Looking for a machine to take to quilting classes that will do blanket stitch but is not heavy. My aging back cannot handle lifting in and out of car. Have a Virtuoso 150 Bernina that is a real workhorse but soo heavy. Any ideas?? Thanks, Belle"

I picked up a Kenmore Mini Ultra at a thrift shop. It's very light and does about 10 stitches - something like that might work for you.

Thanks for the input. I purchasing a Brother quilters machine at Walmart on sale. It weighs about 14 #. So far so good. No knee lift(which I am getting used to) and it chuggs a bit going over joined seams but is my first use of a drop in bobbin and I am sold on that. The needle threader works, too. Great improvement over Bernina. So far has worked for classes and my back is grateful.
