Sew, What's New?

Curating sewing and quilting talent, techniques, and tutorials, since 1997.

To make a 2" wide ruffle, fold a 4" wide strip of fabric in half, lengthwise, with the cut edges meeting and serge them together with a rolled edge. Insert a double needle into your sewing machine and thread crochet thread through the h*** in the throat plate. By stitching 5/8" to 3/4" from the serged edge along the length of the strip, encase the crochet thread. To gather the ruffle, simply pull the crochet thread.
