I have always sewn using a Singer sewing machine. I have now given to me by my sister a singer futura sewing and embrioidery machine. All though I love it. I am finding it being ultra sensitive and always beeping for no apparent reason. Has anyone notice this. I am thinking perhaps it is the foot that is the culprit.

I have a singer overlocking machine (Ultralock). What I find frustrating is I am forever threading the threads. When it works, its a plain sailing...but when its not...I feel like drown it in my pond!

Here's a bit of info you might find useful for Vintage Singers and other old machines you have. There is a website where you can find free threading guides,
www.Sewusa.com click on "threading" in the side bar and the type of machine from the scroll down list. This site has helped me out at times when I bought a vintage machine at a yard sale or thrift store and couldn't find the instructions book.
The instructions and pictures are large and easy to understand and you can print them for later.
Bookmark this site for future reference.
Ok guys, I hope this helps ya! Now back to my threading problem on my newest vintage baby I just bought at the thrift store, a Singer Touch&Sew model 626 for just $20 bucks. Any feedback on this machine would be appreciated, will post a pic of her later.
Thanks,Kay

I recently bought a Singer CE-100, sewing and embroidery machine. Do any of you know of a tutorial that I can get to help me learn this new skill that I am working on?

This video demonstrates how to fix / adjust / repair the timing of the hook on a sewing machine. If the thread from your needle isn't getting caught by the hook that rotates around, this video explains what to adjust to fix that. Requires some very basic tools and takes 15-30 minutes - maybe less.
