Thanks for that hoping to get some pretty fabric tomorrow to make to cushions.

You need to add two *inches* to all sides. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_2_inches_in_cm.

Here is a tutorial that may be helpful!

The cushions are for a lounge sofa. Okay, thanks. So they need to be at least 2cms bigger then how much do I add if I want to make the simple envelope cushion cover?
Susan Comment by Susan on June 4, 2010 at 6:07am
Kirsten it sounds like you need 12 x ( 42 x 42 ) PLUS what you need for the sides of the cushions... (if they have sides) what are the cushions for? A Sofa or outside or?

I am not sure if this is the right place to ask for help? I intend on making 6 cushions covers for my sister for her birthday. I am just not sure how much fabric I should get, the cushion size is 40x40cm. I hope that someone can assist me.

Lovely job Patricia. Like the print.
Anyone in this group made toothbrush rugs? I am not too happy with
my attempts. I do not crochet so maybe thats why.

I want to make satin or silk pillowcases for myself and for my mother for the haircare advantages of reduced breakage, moisture retention, etc. I used to own a satin pillowcase, and I must say my hair was in much better condition. My mother insists that they must be made of silk charmeuse. After doing some research on the net I found that either silk or satin works. So I will make silk for her and satin for myself. My question is, does anyone know which type of satin is better for making pillowcases?? Light, medium, or heavy weight?? 100% polyester? or a blend?

I use the old seat cover as a guide; did an ole' Chevy car seat; and all kinds of chairs in the past 58 years. If it is too gross; I make a muslin pattern and go from there.

Trying again, "my" bathroom in our cottage. The decorator fabric is on a separate rod from the utilitarian one. Large button tabs take the place of rings.

I restored the antique rocker keeping its original oak finish. The seat section is uniquely structured to be removed easily. I padded it and covered it to match the curtain.
T.J. Comment by T.J. on November 3, 2009 at 10:01am
Well, about the seat covers. I'm just learning to sew but my husband does car upholstery. He never had a pattern, only using the template from the old seat. I'll ask him about that tonight when he gets home and see what suggestions he may have.
