Pat, I'm glad you brought the subject of fabric labels!

I don't sew any in nor have I made any yet but have really wanted to for the longest time (just to show that these aren't hand sewn but bought gifts ...lol  - I know some folks who seem to consider the store bought hand-made stuff to be real chic. but not so much when I make them something!)...

So I though I can really answer this because I had seen quite a few tutorials. Try as I may I couldn't find them in the browser history! So I went a-searching.. here are a few I found:

3. A tutorial using Microsoft word with a logo...
4. A detailed tutorial with the how to of making the pattern on your computer and of creating it too!
5. DIY Clothing Labels - how to
7. A tutorial using prepackages colorfast fabric sheet
8. The How-to Fabric labels on eHow  <-- I didn't really like this much...

Pat, you can found many more if you use these keywords in Google --> "label tag logo fabric tutorial"

Another cool idea was to stamp on a fabric tape or lace. This really struck a cord because just yesterday I wrote my first ever tutorial to create rubber stamps

So I think I'm going to use this method to stamp on some laces.. of course I won't carve any letters (I don't want to figure how their mirror images would look like!)

So you all wonderful seamstresses who sew their tags in.. DIYs or ordered ones.. please share pictures!

Regards,

Thankyou so much for information. As soon as I sew one in I will share with a picture.
Now to read all the tutorials you sent.
Thanks again
Pat
I have made my own labels using my monogram machine (PR600) on ribbon. It works pretty good, but I think I want to try twill tape. I love twill tape and I also saw some twill tape hand stamped. Looked really good.
I created my own using printable iron on's .

OMG! Carol Ann, Its gorgeous!! wow.. look at how professional it looks!!

So do you put it more towards the top in the lining seam or more towards the bottom? I think its a little lower.. a cute tag like that that you've taken the pains of making yourself might just go on the outside.. you know.. like how those designer purses have..
Thank you for the nice compliment.

I place them on the inside of the bag more towards the middle (of course when I remember :) ) I had placed one on the outside of the bag but my family said it looked funny.
Pat I make my own sew in labels with twill tape and iron on transfer. This way my blog, business cards and logo all match my labels. I hope this helps.
