Can anyone give me some information on the type of hand embroidery  of the duck holding the cake and the others like that in Lynn Palmeretto's photo gallery?  I am new to hand embroidery and would love to learn how to do that type.  Where would I find patterns, instructions and/or any books on that type?  Thanks

I do both hand and machine embroidery, but my passion is hand embroidery, mostly with vintage transfers for children. Right now am working on kitchen curtains with rock and roll vegetables. I think I have pictures up of some of the things I've done.

Hi all just joined this group. I have a husqvarna Designer Se with Embird 2010/studio and Sfumato. I put my free designs on sew forum. Warna I had forgotten about the plastic wraps I just bought 2 plastic containers when I was in Panama to store my thread in. I am going back and forth to 2 places right now and need easy transport of my threads. I have industrial sewing machines in both places right now, what a bother.

I store mine in stackable drawer units by my sewing machine.

I keep my mini spools in a simple, shallow plastic container with a lid. I bought the least expensive clear plastic table cloth at the fabric store. I cut the plastic into strips. I wrap a piece of this plastic around each spool. The static in the plastic adheres to the thread and I have no loose ends. I can see my colors at a glance and there is no unravelling. I remove the plastic for sewing and put it back on when I am done...works great and not an expensive alternative

Does any one have a suggestion for storing/organizing mini spools (1100 yds) of embroidery thread?
