The vest was made using a ebook pattern from A red and green check cotton fabric with red velvet trim and red buttons were used to complete this little vest.

Oh my goodness! That velvet was a pain! I had to hand baste the pieces so that the pile wouldn't pull the fabric off it different directions. I simply used a pressing cloth and low iron heat to press the pieces. Oh and when I cut out the pieces I actually cut them on a bit of a diagonal to make the pile easier to deal with. I don't know if it is the right thing to do but it worked. LOL Thanks for the compliment!

Adorable! Do you have any tips for sewing with velvet? Did you use something to press the velvet without crushing it?
