I got these designs from Eve Hawkins - a bit of stitch, the web link is:

I hope that link works for you, let me know. Also Hope Yoder has some nice embroideries on her website for making the buttons she's at: Hopeyoder.com

She has videos on her site of the fun things you can make.

Thanks for adding the link Judy. Agree it's pricey, but VERY easy to use. Who'd thought making buttons would be fun! Hope's site also has some great embroideries to use on the buttons.

I have the button machine from www.hopeyoder.com too. It is the best thing ever. It is a little pricey; but, well worth it. Please take a look at it. She also has great button designs.

Robyn - Hair barrets would be a great idea! I'll have to go guy wal-mart and pick some up and play later. I've heard of people using the bobbi pins with the button backs, but I don't see why a little glue wouldn't hold it in place on the barret.

I have a "button machine" from HopeYoder.com which makes it really easy to cover the buttons and keep them centered. Hope also sells ponytail backs, eyeglasses holders, badge reels, etc. If you buy anything from her, tell her I sent you! Everything I make now seems to have matching covered buttons. If you are covering buttons the old fashioned way just put a little glue adhesive on the center of the button to keep the fabric still. I used to use super 77 by 3m. I'd spray a little on the button top (in a box to prevent everything around from getting sticky spray on it) then cover the button the old fashioned way. This held everything in place very well.
The embroidery on the buttons is from abitofstitch.com.

Great embellishment technique, never thought of that.

These are really lovely. Would be great on Hair barrettes. Have you ever thought of embroidering them with initials and using them on the hair clips.
Was given this idea but have never done it, but i should as i have 2 embroidery machines, but get to busy with other things
