Sew, What's New?

Curating sewing and quilting talent, techniques, and tutorials, since 1997.

I've been making an extra effort to use fabric from my stash more regularly. Friday's seem to be a good day to sew lately for some reason. It is supposed to rain for the next two days, so I plan to be working with these pieces. Cushion covers? A nice SIMPLE bag? A table topper? I love the fabric print so much, I did not cut it into smaller pieces. It almost killed me to cut what I had in half. (LOL) I've already quilted it using a walking foot and straight lines .5" apart. I just needed to stitch mindlessly today! I only had to take one line of stitching out before I was finished.

The fabric in the photo is Tokyo Milk - Neptune and the Mermaid - Neptune's Neverland in Aqua, which is now out of print. The print I purchased at (now sold out) but I was able to find some of the fabric print at Etsy here, and here.

I chose variegated aqua thread for the bobbin against the solid aqua fabric, and some aqua Magnifico thread for the top. I am still using my Fiskars Comfort Grip scissors! The batting was a low-loft poly batting I purchased locally.

I'll post a photo of whatever comes out of this project.
