Sew, What's New?

Curating sewing and quilting talent, techniques, and tutorials, since 1997.

My sisters and I got together for a "Sewing Soiree" last week. We live some distance apart and we love an excuse to get together. This time was to learn about landscape quilting. We learn by doing.... I did this one and am for the most part happy with my first effort. It measures about 36X46 inches. I dyed most of the fabrics by hand (except for the bushes and my sister found just the right fabric for that. We used Nancy Ziemann's TV show for inspriation. My quilt is not quite finished (Ran out of time), I got home last night and couldn't wait to post it. I have so many more ideas for landscape quilts! I have 3 of the coolest sisters ever!

This is so beautiful!  Being a painter as well as a sewer, I am blown away with the depth you were able to show in your piece!  Hat of to you and your sisters!!!!!!  Amazing!!!!

Thanks Marsha, We are trying to do this a couple of times a year. As we get older, we are realizing that if we want to spend more time together, we have to make a special effort to do so.  Our love of sewing and crafting is giving us a reason to do so.  We are already planning our next foray into sewing.
