Mail Fashion

The fusion of card making and fashion sewing! This is a Note card that I have sewn using the Islander Sewing MyStyle Greetings. The little dress is made scraps of left over fabrics. Blue silk dupioni has been used for the dress. Black Sparkle lace with bats on it left over from a halloween costume is used for the under-dress. Gold and red trim and a little black bow with a pearl bead at the waist. A blank note card that I glued some decorative paper on to and the dress form. I actually did sew this little dress on to the cards dress form. This was so much fun to make and hopefully the person I made it for will appreciate the thought.

Awesome and ty for sharing your opinion about the classes. I missed the classes available in my area for this year :-( Looking at some DVD's as an alternate plan.

Hmmm.... yes the Islander sewing techniques are explained in this pattern, but not pointed out as so. I have taken a couple of their classes at expos and really enjoy the no nonsense easy techniques. After my first class my thought was, "You can do that?". I then realized that there are no rules keeping me doing the same old ways that sometimes did not work. Islander sewing really is easy and fast. I have a couple of their dvd's as well and look back on them so I don't revert back to my bad habits. LOL

Very cute! So do you use the Islander method of sewing?? The no pins method? I was looking this up and find the info interesting. Would love to hear if anyone does use the method and what they like/dislike about it. Thanks

Look out all the fashionistas of my acquaintance(and you know who you are :}. This too good an idea not to run with it.
