Sew, What's New?

Curating sewing and quilting talent, techniques, and tutorials, since 1997.

I used the ribbon flowers I made on these flip flops. They cost about $2, I sewed the flower in the center of the strap (where it goes between your toes) with needle and thread; I topped that off with a silvery-white bead. Then, I sewed beads, clear glass ones, and then a few black ones, onto the straps from underneath the flower to the end of the strap. I used some craft pliers to push and pull the needle through the strap. This is my trial pair. I used button thread in red to attach the beads. Now I know how to do it, so I'll match the thread!
