Melissa, I hope that you DO take up a project soon. Making a sofa slipcover can appear daunting, but it's a lot simpler if you start on something smaller like a parson chair. If you can made a knife edged pillow with piping (some call it welt or cording), and a zipper in the seam, you have the basic skills for a slipcover. I start with measuring the cushions (if any), then the "waistline" where the skirt is attached, followed by the decking. I then make an abbreviated muslin pattern over the arm and shoulder area, and then write all the remaining measurements on it. I started using muslin some years ago as a time and energy saver; it works very well for me, but there are other techniques that work well, too. Keep me posted on your progress!

I can't say enough nice things about your work. One day I hope to do this. How do you know how to measure? Please continue to post your work, it is completely motivating!
