This was converted from a rather tight skirt, now a much better fit. I love chunky embroidery and buttons!

This is adorable! What a creative way to refashion the skirt! You did a beautiful job!
Sorry, no pattern. I cut the skirt to size (about 14inches across the middle) and used it as a pattern for the lining. The black trim was part of the skirt, as was the change from diagonal to square checks across the panels. Sewed the front and back together and gave it a flat bottom 4 inches across. The embroidery was freehand (I couldn't get any of my chalks to show up to even sketch out a pattern!) I gave the lining a zipped pocket on one side and a divided slip pocket on the other side and made up handles. The embroidery was inspired by I course I went on by Susan Cariello and I bought her book '20 Floral bags to make' (Bags in Bloom in the states).
Love it!! I am in need of a new bag & yours is just the ticket...Do you have a pattern?
cute bag. need the pattern
You've done a WONDERFUL job on this. I love the suit fabs for making business like bags for laptop carriers etc. They look so ultimate in class A!
