this is very pretty, could a person leave the waterproof material on and just put fabric over it? I guess, you would have to figure out the pattern though. Very pretty, thanks. I don't have any idea where to get the waterproof spray, can you tell me? Thanks.

this is fabulous!! No more ugly plain color umbrellas for me.  Now I have a new item to look for while thrifting. Plus a great way to use up some of my yardage. thanks so much for sharing this technique!

I'd like to do this, but on my patio umbrella.  Do you think the steps would be the same, just on a larger scale?
