These are so great! I love fabric bags in lieu of wrapping paper. I've been wanting to do some fabric painting and this might be a great first project. Thanks, Nicolette.

Here is a brief description of how they are made: Serge sides and top. Press top to wrong side 2". Open. Stitch side, leaving a 1/2" opening where the drawstring will be inserted. Stitch and serge bottom. Press open seam allowances on side. Top-stitch 2 rows of stitching, 1" and 1 1/2" down from folded edge of top. Insert drawstring.

How did you finish the top of the bags? I can't see a hem line... are they lined?
