Thank you, I made this Skirt using nothing but the little girls mesurements and adding the seam allowances and waistband and hem allowances to the length. I sewed the 2 skirt sections together, serged the seams and I started at the bottom, attaching the pre-hemmed ruffle (I used my ruffler foot to make all the ruffles)serged and topsitched, went up the skirt cut off with my rotary cutter about 3 inches from the top of that ruffle and repeated the process until I had reached the top layer. This one is 4 layers of ruffles each ruffle was cut at 4 inches so after hemming and the 1/2 inch allowance it is 3 inches. When the last ruffle was attached and top stitched I folded down the waistband 1/4 inch, ironed it to stay, folded another 1 inch down, ironed and stitched, leaving a gap to insert my 3/4 inch elastic and closed the gap. Done! Hope these directions are easy enough to understand but if you need more info, just let me know. Thanks again!
I never get tired of little girls in ruffles. So cute :)
I love this too! So please tell me. Is there a pattern available or a tutorial to teach us other grandmas how to make this? How can I make one for My grand daughter?
Love it! I have a grand daughter that age that I would love to make one of those skirts for.
