A room for show rather than activity?

Margie is one of the most prolific and creative seamstressed I have ever known. Her eye for design and color is amazing and she sells lots of her purses and aprons (see some of the photos on this blog), but she is telling the truth that clutter stiffles her creativity. She also has a full time job and 2 amazing grand kids to sew for!

Very pretty but is it very practical? I have to agree with other commenters that it looks too neat to be an actual sewing room. It would be nice to see the rest of the room to get a good perspective on the size of the whole room.

I love the colors, but like most of you I can't keep my sewing area this neat.

I seem to vaguely remember when my sewing/craft room looked this nice! It's been my experience that when it looks this nice, I am reluctant to start new projects for fear of it getting messy again!

oh my word, i'm so glad to hear it's not always this clean. glad ot know i'm not the only messy seamstress!

i do love the white and the fabric on the chair is awesome. i keep thinking i need to recover my chair, it's still the boring cherry red it came with ...

i know what you mean about stifling your creativity though ... maybe i should organize tomorrow :D

People, people,.....This was just after I remodeled. This used to be my daughters bedroom. I had just painted the sewing cabinet and covered the chair. I love having a pretty place to create, but believe me, it has never been this tidy since. I admit clutter does stifle my creativity, so every once in a while I have to tidy up my work area to get the creative juices flowing. Thanks for all the nice comments.

Oh to have a sewing room so neat and tidy. And decorated so lovely. The more organized I get, the less I can find when I need it. I call it organized chaos. Love the chalkboard. Is that a dust cover for your thread rack? I do much the same.

Love your sewing corner. I checked the rest of your pictures of your sewing/craft room. Just lovely. Your creations are lovely too.
