You can whip this dress up from start to finish in just two hours so it’s a great nap time project! You only have to cut four pieces of fabric but this dress does use some shirring and a button h***.

Comment by joanne on January 31, 2013 at 3:28pm: I've always wondered how much extra width to add to the fabric if you plan to shirr it? For example if I make a girls bodice to fit a 23" chest, how many inches do I add to that? Doesn't the shirring "decrease" the width? Would I cut the bodice larger to fit a 25"chest and then shirr it down to fit a 23" chest?
