Angela L commented on the blog post 'Ain't Yo Momma's Jean Skirt'
"Thanks for the kind words, Karen! There are seams in the panels, they're just not noticeable unless you are up close. And even then, the ombre effect kind of disguises them. I agree that denim is an underappreciated medium! I love to see what…"

Karen commented on the blog post 'Ain't Yo Momma's Jean Skirt'
"So how on earth did you get such big pieces without any seams? Or are there seams there? You did a terrific job. It is such a great fabric to wear I am sad to see so little made out of it apart from jeans and skirts with lumpy zips up the front. I…"

How to Make Wrist Pin Cushions

Once I finished , I decided that the kids in my sewing classes needed pin cushions. After scouring the internet for fun ideas that I could sew in bulk, I eventually realized that it was best to keep it simple - a wrist pin cushion seemed the most practical. Circles are my preferred shape, so I found a roll of masking tape to use as a template and went to work.…See More

Mary Ellen Edwards commented on the blog post 'Izzy & Ivy's Macy Giggles Dress - Sewing Pattern Review'
"Thank you for this pattern review! I purchased this pattern last year to make it for my grand daughter. Oh my! What a hot mess for me! First of all I resent paying an arm and a leg for a pattern and then have to print, copy, tape, cut, and guess…"

Caroline Stedman commented on the blog post 'Izzy & Ivy's Macy Giggles Dress - Sewing Pattern Review'
"This pattern seems identical to the PDF pattern I own called Emory, same Designer. The total fabric required for a size 7 is 2 yards and the measurements for the skirt are now 2 X 17 3/4" X 38" . So a better use of fabric. The placket in…"

Beverly Jane commented on the blog post 'Izzy & Ivy's Macy Giggles Dress - Sewing Pattern Review'
"I like straightforward patterns.  I used to have the eyes to see every little detail on a pattern but no longer.  So, I would pass this up at 3.50 yards of fabric.  I have great-grandaughters and they are as cute as can be.  I…"

Circle Maxi from a Flat Sheet

I got it in to my head the other day that I would love a long circle skirt. I blame YouTube for their "recommended" section that often lures me in to wasting hours on videos that I didn't plan to watch. It's shameful how much time I lose on that site.... Anyway, there was a lady that demonstrated how to turn a king-size sheet in to a "maxi" circle skirt. I will not link to the video…See More

Karen commented on the blog post 'Circle Maxi from a Flat Sheet'
"Love it, love that your sheets are sitting around being useless, love that you needed to make a circle skirt immediately, and enjoyed the dyeing debacle.  I had a similar experience with a tie-dyed tablecloth recently, I will post about it…"

I promise that this is the final project that I'm doing for my sewing class! At the last minute, I decided that I needed some fabric bins to hold shears, rulers, fabric markers, etc.. that go on the sewing tables. After several hours of searching sewing sites for a good tutorial, I came across some simple instructions…

Hi Angela - that makes me feel better as I have just had to edit my Sewing Machine Needle Organizer Update post a couple of times so it keeps appearing and disappearing!  Will keep an eye out for the Pincushion post.  I made one myself and did a "Make your own Pincushion Post and tutorial but it's on  SWN .netblog page so it disappeared quite quickly.

Hi Angela

Can't find the rest of your "Wrist Pincushions" post, is it awaiting approval or did you set a future date for it to be published?
