BOM's are great! But they do stack up just like any other project. I did a "First Saturday-of-the-Month" quilt project. It was great. A pieced sampler with three colorways to choose from. I couldn't decide which colorway I liked…

No Sew

I am sad to say that I have not sewn since April of 2008.

Last year was a bad year for me and I switched my momentum to scrapbooking. With what was going on, preserving memories seemed the best route for me. Now i have two 'bad' habits to deal with :).

On a lighter note, I have started another BOM put on by my local quilt store. This one features blues and greens and I cannot wait to get this first block done. Its inspired me to look back on the projects I have to try to… Continue

Okay, well I am no where near finishing any of these items, except for the Honey Bee Club, as we have two weeks left for that (one for the block and one for the borders) then the top is DONE!. The backing/finishing kit for this block is going to cost me $200 (I am doing two), not including the batting. WOWSER! I am proud of the quilt anyways, so will pay the money.

The blocks I have to finish are: #5 (one triangle) #6 (entire block), #7 (sashing and triangles), #8 (one corner,… Continue

Hello to all!!

A couple of years ago, my mom bought me a machine for Christmas, thinking that I would use it to sew clothes and do some mending. Boy, was she wrong! She had just gotten into quilting herself and… Continue

Have you seen any UFO's lately?

I seem to start one every week.

The one in my profile picture is one I took a class for, so I could finish a quilt, and this one still isn't done! The flower ring in the middle is supposed to have 4 flowers on it, but she taught us an appliqué technique that I didn't like, so left it as is. There will be "stitch in the ditch" quilting around the stars and along the lines in the log cabin blocks; right now, just the blocks are outlined. It should be hung, but I use it as a throw. It… Continue

This video demonstrates how to fix / adjust / repair the timing of the hook on a sewing machine. If the thread from your needle isn't getting caught by the hook that rotates around, this video explains what to adjust to fix that. Requires some very basic tools and takes 15-30 minutes - maybe less.
