Ellen, everyone seems to be on the same page. I wonder if this site will list the best online fabric stores, or if the ladies will refer us to them. If we all band together with networking, then maybe we can put a dent in the…
I used to think that the fabric was cheaper in Canada. When I lived in Washington state I would go across the border to load up on fabric. This was in the early 90's, and now I live in Minnesota, went to Toronto last year thinking…
People always say it depends on what you are going to sew, and how often you are going to use the sewing machine. It is always best to get a sewing machine that you will grow into than to get one that you will outgrow. That means you…
I Went to Toronto last June and found a fabric district with fabric stores on both sides of the street. From the high end to the low end. I was really looking for some bargains but didn't find that much. I was drunk from…

Like I said I understand your illness, and I too don't care anymore. That's my addiction. You are not alone. I've just begun, and I really hate parting with any fabric because I figure I can do something with that! I've truly…
I want to say I understand your illness. Although I only have two..........Bernina 160, and the Brother ult2003 (still haven't gotten around to using that thing all the way) been waiting to get the software. I decided that I am going to go…
I'm not a beginning sewer but I think they continues these videos as they are helpful. I learned something about using the silk organza as a pressing tool...........didn't know that. This was useful.
I enjoy anything related to sewing, magazines, photos of sewing machines, people who have them, making garments. I even enjoy looking for fabrics.
What type of sewing do you enjoy?
garment, embroidery
What type(s) of sewing machine(s) do you have?
For the time being I have a Brother 2003ult, and a Bernina 160, Janome compulock serger. I am now trying to find a machine that I would be able to take to class.
What brands of patterns have you tried?
I've had a really hard time with patterns. For me they are not that easy, and i get frustrated and will take a detour and make something by sight. I am now trying to search and find software that would aid me making a better garment.

Hi Brandy ~
I'm hoping that you're somewhere in my neck of the woods. It's hard to meet new people who just might understand sewing lingo. I teach a group of women at the community centre in Housey's Rapids (Gravenhurst) and make the short trek to Orillia at least once a week. Drop me a line and ask all the questions you want. If you live near here, perhaps a phone call or tea and donut at Timmy's.
Hey, Brandy! Thanks for the congratulations :o) I did get a super, super deal. It would be gauche of me to say what I paid, but I came out way ahead. I am having some trouble with the embroidery aspect. The machine keeps telling me a thread is broken when it isn't. I'm hoping to sit down and figure it out today. What are you working on?
Did you see my message that I have the Brother card 45 you wanted. It is from my store. I think the plastic that covers the packaging is either torn or gone, but other wise it is fine.
I am in Arkansas. Everyone makes that mistake. Arizona is AZ.
I don't really like to do garment sewing. I was involved in a car accident 4 years ago and had a severe head injury. It effected my short term memory. That means I really can't learn anything new unless it has good pictures. I really enjoy machine embroidery and usually put it on anything already made. I also enjoy in the hoop projects if I can understand the directions. Right now I am working on purses and practical things like pot holders, towels etc. I am planning on participating in a craft show in the spring.
