Profile Information

About Me:
I love sewing because you can create just about anything you can dream up. My Mum taught me the basics when I was a teenager and since then I have been teaching myself. My main niche is handbags, which I design myself. I believe we should be doing everything possible to save this planet and thus I like to create out of recycled material including old clothes and offcuts. You can follow my sewing adventures at:

What type of sewing do you enjoy?
garment, home decor, embroidery
What type(s) of sewing machine(s) do you have?
Janome
What brand of patterns do you prefer?
For clothing I like Simplicity branded patterns - however I prefer even more to create my own!

Why I Am Lucky And Will Be OK...With Sketching

Despite days since my stomping on
The pain is flaring just as strong
But I’m trying to turn this mood around
Keep these swollen feet on solid ground

And remember how lucky I am.

This is the latest imaginaiad, Leni, she’s just a sketch right now but is looking forward to getting her colours… Rellacafa

Pictures of RSD @ Rellacafa's New Home!

I’ve worked pretty hard
And I’m finally done
The battle with code
I eventually won
Now for my troubles
I have a brand new site
A playground of sorts
For anything I write
And though I still have
Very much updating to do
I couldn’t resist
Sharing what I have done with you!

The latest post
More pics than most
Of my little
Swollen toes

Hope you like it :)

My Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD) Story part 5

Just as I was recovering in the hip
My body took another slip
This time striking me in the jaw
With I not knowing whatever for!

Thanks so much to all of you taking the time to watch these clips, it means a lot to me to be able to get the word out about this horribly debilitating yet unknown condition…thank you xx

Welcoming 09 With a Bang and a Mic

Shedding off 08 involved
The problem of my pain being solved
With a glass of wine
Or maybe more….
With enthusiastic sing stars
And a loony dance floor

Watch highlights at my blog Rellacafa

Now for the rest and recovery!

Good Riddance 2008: Year of the Hell

Right throughout this year did rain
Torrents of torture and barrels of pain
Here’s hoping that it can be set right again
Cause it’s doing my head in, just staying sane

if you are speaking of a cotton thread rack, they now have them at walmart and not as pricey as the ones i had to pay for at hancocks.

thanks Caf for your nice comments! Glad to meet you! I used to make handbags too from the vintage kimono fabrics, but now only make the cards and occasionally a scarf to go with my cards. I don't know if you like to work with silk, but check out what I have in my etsy shop: kimonocards.etsy.com.
Take care!

Thanks for your nice compliment. Most of the pictures are my children's aprons-I do also make bibs, etc. Thanks again--kelly

Hi Caf,
Thanks for your messages. I've been making soap tetergent, dishwahing liquids, fabric softener etc., as my sideline jobs. I'm happy to send to you the ingredients and the "how to", of these things. I do admire your talent of bag making. Can you share with me those talents of yours. I just need some patterns to do it. Thanks and gonna clips my notes for soapmaking to send to you.

interesting sounding book!! I just finsihed a book called " stolen innocence" by Elissa Wall. Its about a girl who belonged to a poligamist group and was forced to marry at 14.. very interesting story.

I will very soon but right now my camera is on the blink. I hope to have pictures of my projects as well. Your collection looks quite impressive.

No, I didn't draw my avatar. I use it for my handbag company. By the way, you have some fantastic bags. Love them!!

Not enough pics! The sewing room's a mess, I need to clean it up so I can take pictures. I'll get right on that!
