Hi Peg!
Thankyou for your comments! Yes, apparel sewing is a different animal than upholstery! I have a Babylock Ellageo. It is a combination embroidery/sewing machine I purchased specifically for my business about 4-5 years ago. It has been an absolute dream! I have it serviced once a year to check for any issues and to be cleaned, but ti has never given me any trouble at all. I know alot of people have sergers and coverstitch machines, but my trusty ellageo is the only one I have or need. I have thought about purchasing a serger, but then I think, why? My ellageo can do just about all the same work, and I don't have time to learn a new machine, nor do I really have the space to set up another spot for one.
I get calls all the time from people asking if I do pillows or drapes. I have to tell them no. It is just as big a business as what I do!

I sew primarily custom slipcovers and use industrial machines to handle the weight. I must make several adjustments to switch to apparel sewing. I'm thinking it might be time to add another machine to the collection.

Sincerely,
Peg
