I am making a cot blanket with polar fleece. I have 'blanket stitched' around the edge with 8 ply wool, but now I don't know how to join where I finished with one length of wool and started the next. I have looked at some YouTube viedeo's but they are always working with double material.Would anyone be able to explain how to finish the joining places so the blanket stitch still looks neat. I would hate to spoil the effect of the blanket stitch around the edge with 'sloppy joins'.Thanks,ChrisSee More

I live in Perth, Western Australia, and a few months ago became a first time grandmother to beautiful twin girls. I have been busy knitting and sewing for them, as well as continuing in my business.
My sewing interests are:
garment, embroidery

My two boys are the only grandchildren on both sides and there will be no more since everyone else is past the age (so am I now). Those boys do get spoiled, especially at Christmas!
Can you send Christina a message and let her know you will wait a few more days? Thanks!
The picture came through perfectly! They look healthy and lovely! Are they your first grandchildren?
Yes, I agree that you should wait a few more days. After all, everyone has until next Thursday to get the packages off, so you may yet hear from her. I hope you do. If I didn't already have two swap partners I would swap with you!
The cycle of life! Congratulations regarding the grand-daughters and condolances for your mother-in-law. I will let you know when I hear from Christina.
Hi Chris, not going in the swap. Busy sewing 2 x flowergirls dresses for friends daughter, and I'm not even invited to the wedding!! However, it is in Cairns so the air fare saved will buy a lot of fabric!! Have just finished the 2 quilts for the Victorian Bushfire victims. Also attending machine embroidery classes with my sister and our Brother sewing machines. We are learning heaps from our tutor and it makes such a difference to really start to understand your embroidery machine. Did we discuss machines - I'm a Pfaff tragic, classical music buff, married with 3 grown children and 6 grandchildren. My son just paid us a surprise visit from Burleigh Heads, Qld, on his motor bike so I'm looking forward to hearing that he has arrived safely back home today. My two daughters live here in Adelaide. Talk later, best regards, Helen
Hi Chris, thanks for the reply. Love Perth and considered visiting for the Aust. Sewing Guild's convention there later this year but decided against it as I have relatives and friends in Brisbane who need visits. The budget does not run to both. I'm sewing two quilts for the Vic Bushfire victims and am about to make another garment from vogue 8486, very easy and flattering to the full bust. Wish I was as tall as the sketch on the envelope tho! First one I made is exactly view A, black and white print, sleeveless, love it. As seen in Stitches too! Enjoy Brisbane, talk later, Helen
