I am an awesome:
sewing since I was nine I concentrate on fit, realizing that it doesn't matter how beautiful the garment is; if it doesn't fit it doesn't matter much.
My sewing interests are:
garment, drapery, home decor
My sewing machine(s):
Industrial- straight stitch with reverse, merrow, blindstitch and zigzag
I am interested in patterns such as:
Custom made.
I am updating and expanding my business reach by letting you know a little more of what we do. We offer custom clothing (we work with you long-distance), patternmaking, sloper drafting and pattern drafting.
If you need a pattern but do not have the patternmaking skills we'll do that for you. We have seminars on taking correct measurements and creating a pattern from measurements.
I'm currently working on TCouture Plus, which is a line of pattern for the petite plus woman, who'd rather be looked over than overlooked. It will be available to the public November 15th.

Has anyone had a pattern that no alterations have to be made to? and if so from whom? I am so tired of clothing that does not fit right. Some of the most common alterations which is easily fixed; shoulder too long, across front too wide, armhole(armscye) too low/too big and the most trying, the nape to waist too long so there's always a bunch of fabric right there. Would like all your feedback.

Hi Claudette, I was reading some of your posts and saw that you have a book on pattern-making.  Am I correct?  If yes what is the name and where do I get it.

I am not too happy with the purchased patterns so I do my own pattern-making.  I am getting back into sewing as soon as I am done with my MBA this August.  Maybe I can ask for your help at that time?

Hi Claudette, we are back home from out trip.  I hope you all had a beautiful Christmas.  Let me know what I will be needing to make my sloper so I can gather the items for after the new year and be ready for your instructions.

Hi Claudette.  Gail here.  I would like to know how to go about the sloper, I am going out of town, would it be better to wait until after Christmas, I don't have time to work on anything much right now with my preparations for the trip.   I was doing some checking on the internet after you mentioned it and I think I have the idea, but do not know for sure what to do.

Thanks, I will send you photos of the final outfit. I am going to try and do a pant and jacket set, using Vogue pattern number 1132. I have bad legs and want to make pants to go with the plaid jacket shown. I bough 6 yards of a plaid suiting that I think is called Dark Watch. It is black, dark navy blue, dark green and has yellow thin lines. Gorgeous! Unfortunatly it is only 45" wide. If I can only make the jacket out of that material, I will find simialr fabric in probably the black or maybe the navy to go with it. Also I am a slow sewer since I work full time on the midnight shift and can't sew everyday. If it takes me awhile don't think I have forgotten you. I need to make the jacket first so I will know if I have enough material to do the pants out of it. Or at least cut it out first. I would like to add you as a friend so I don't lose contact with you. Thanks again, Laurie Fowler

Hi Claudette,

Good to hear from you, I am in the process of looking for ways (inexpensively) to get more business myself. I have been pretty lucky with word of mouth and I also advertise on Craige's List. (free). I have gotten quite a bit from there. I have been reading a lot of books on 'sewing as a business' and have gotten some good ideas which I will put into effect soon. I am about 2-1/2 hours from Stuart. Why don't you give me a call sometime and we can bounce ideas off of each other, maybe we can help each other. My numbers are 321-507-4002 (home) 407 222 3866 ( cel). My email is jane3866@aol.com.
Have a great weekend.

Hi Claudette,

Merritt Island is on the Space Coast, near NASA and Cocoa Beach. I get to watch the shuttle go off from my house.
