Of course I will be happy to answer any questions. I really learned a lot having my business. If I had the money to start over I think I could make a go of it.....or at least I like to think I would. If you want to ask question on this board I would be happy to answer them here. That way every one would get a better idea of how the stores work. Janome was my second choice. There was an exclusive Janome dealer near by and after I got into it Brother offered a few extras for their dealers that I liked. A lot of it also depends on the sales rep for your area and how supportive he or she is.
Connie I read your article on the machines. This was a dream of mine to sell machines. I now see the other side of the coin in selling. I purchased a brother ult2003 in Washington state. I thought that the company stood by their product. So when I moved to Chicago I found only one Brother dealer.
I contacted Brother company first....I figured the company would pay the store owner for free classes. I now understand the owners point of view. I was willing to pay...but the people wanted 100.00 to show me how to use the machine. I never took the classes. So I know the importance of purchasing from the dealer and taking the classes there.
Also I really felt for you in the sales department. This was one of my dreams of selling Brother or Janome. I still don't know who's best. You can email me at mamafiore22002@yahoo.com I would like to know a couple of things. I would have been your best customer just because you went out of your way to help me and ask questions. As a matter of fact that's how I ended up buying a Brother because the sales lady knew the machines, and always helped me with stuff. So I brought things from them. I even ended up buying a serger and another Brother for my daughter.
I have the Brother's innvo 4000d and Iupgraded it once. I like to know if
there another upgrade I can get on line for it are do I have to purchase all the upgrade cause it is not worth it to trade my machine in for the new model cause the amount they give you is nothing
