Profile Information

I am an awesome:
I am retired. I've taught Special Education, been a waitress, a nurses aid, a nanny, a housekeeper, a housecleaner, worked in a laundry, and done laundry in private homes, and worked in hotels.

I love anything to do with fibers_knitting, crocheting_, fabric_sewing, quilting, hand and machine embroidery, garment construction, altered art to wear. making totes from a variety of materials including the tops of denim jeans_I also bead- I am beading all over a cloth doll and she is quite stunning if I do say so myself.

I also enjoy altered books, scrapbooking, cardmaking, painting, drawing, reading, making jewelry, crocheting dolls. making the beds to go with the dolls, making afghans, designing and making stocking caps: photography and using the software on the computer to alter it, and last but not least, I have a love/hate relationship with this computer of mine...I have lots of time each day to fill (no husband, no children. so therefore, no grandchildren, and so I fill it with crafting of all sorts.

I use the caps that I make as giveaways in the fall to a progam that gives children caps for winter, so I rarely ride in a vehicle without a crochet hook and yarn nearby to work on stocking caps. Can't disappoint the children you kow?

My parents are 93, having their 74th wedding anniversary this year, and in pretty good health for their age. I am blessed to have them live so long. I am 66 and can say that this is one of my joys...calling them everyday.
My sewing interests are:
garment, quilting, embroidery
My sewing machine(s):
Brother Innovis
singer straight sewing
Brother PE150
I am interested in patterns such as:
McCall's, Butterick, Simplicity, and to make my own patterns.
