Latest Excitement!

Can anyone tell me exactly where you start sewing the unlapped side of the zipper in a lapped applicaiton? Is it just above the zipper stop, beside it or below it? I seem to have a little jog at the botton of the zipper no matter what I do.

About Me:
Hi I'm Susan. I am Canadian and live by the ocean on the atlantic coast in a small community. Homeschooling mother to two extra large teenage boys with Aspergers Syndrome, stepparent of three. 2 + 3 = 5. Shoot me.

Most of my sewing projects consist of bedding for critters and humans... some EASY garment sewing, and bags. My goal for the summmer is to make two upholstered double headboards.
What type of sewing do you enjoy?
garment, drapery, home decor, quilting
What type(s) of sewing machine(s) do you have?
Kenmore - I killed it.
Euro-Pro - Killing it slowly...
I'd like a Pfaff.
What brand of patterns do you prefer?
Burda, but I don't use them. Not a "pattern" person. Like to wing it!

I very much enjoy your emails. They keep me interested even though I don't have time to sew as much as I would like. I sewed most of my clothes twenty years ago. Now I really want to get back to it. Thanks!

Hello, I recently was given a tote bag made from a Country Acres Horse feed bag. The feed bag is made of, I really don't know, but it's not paper and not really plastic. We have horses and use the same feed so I started saving the bags. What I was wondering was what kind of thread would you use and what size and type of needle. I can tell she constructed it on a regular sewing machine. If you have any suggestions, that would be great.
