Hi, I to have the same problem you have but i came across simplicity / khaliah ali patterns. they pretty good and also butterick plus size with mc calls great. My bust is 50" but when i use size 26 on the patterns it is too big try useing size 24 good fit.

Does your bra have an underwire? Does the underwire fit your breasts, but the cups are too big? If that's the case, you can pinch out the extra fabric in 3-8 or more places and make them into darts. You can make the band tighter by the suggestion by Katie below. My name is also Katie. You can email me at bowtoyourpartner@yahoo.com

I have made bra's tighter by taking off the hook and eye part in the back and shortened it there. Either one side or both, for the two inches i would do one inch each side. It is sewn with a zig zag stitch so not that hard, just lock your ends so that it doesn't POP when you are wearing it.. good luck Katie
