Thank you very much, I paid £40 when my sewing machine went funny a year ago, It's now gone again so i'll now have a go at mending it myself. Gail x

Thanks for your comment. The thing about fall colors is they are so warm, and since my home is geared toward earth tones I can keep a wallhanging like this one up for quite awhile.

I've just been looking at your page Birdie, you are one very talented lady, the only thing that i can do is to alter and repair things.
I work in a nursing home, and every year around Christmas, some of us donate things or make things, last year I did smelly bath salts, nice smelly ones : ) This year I really fancy having a go at making a few bags, I'll have to look up a site to get some ideas, I know that there's 11 months to go, but time seems to fly to me, one minute I was 21, now ..... I'm 55, It's like I've been asleep and just woken up. Just got in from a walk with my husband, not comes the ironing, I must confess, I don't really mind ironing. xxx

Thanks for the friendship Gail! I'm so sorry you slipped & fell....down 6 steps no less - how scary is that! I once fell down 4 steps while holding a cat and injured my coccyx/tailbone. it hurts to this day and made a large knot of sorts. OUCH! It's a wonder you didn't break anything. At least there's no ironing involved : )

Thank Birdie.
Today didn't go too well, I slipped down at least 6 stairs, nothing broken just a vey sore and bruised elbow. The day ended well, I got some sewing done, and because I'd hurt my elbow .... didn't have to do any ironing : )

This video demonstrates how to fix / adjust / repair the timing of the hook on a sewing machine. If the thread from your needle isn't getting caught by the hook that rotates around, this video explains what to adjust to fix that. Requires some very basic tools and takes 15-30 minutes - maybe less.
