I am an awesome:
I am 64 yr.old, used to sew a lot years ago but have not sewn much for myself because my overweight, short, small boned body is so hard for me to fit myself. I am considering getting the fabulous fit body dress form but am worried I will not be able to pad it. I need help with information from sewers who own or know anything about the Fabulous fit dress form. HELP!!
I have been dappling along with my sewing for years and I guess I can be labeled an advanced Beginner...past the crawlig stages of sewing but deffinitely not an intermediate sewer as I have SO Very Much still to learn but I am eager to
learn, especially on making clothes , finally, for myself after all these years of sewing formals, costumes and clothing for my kids and grandkids...nothing real fancy but I was proud of what I made and so were they at the time. NOW its MY time of life and I am eager to learn about fitting and pattern alterations etc for myself and maybe Hubby if he behaves....but, what are the chances of that after 43 years of marriage now..haha. I have always wanted a dress form to fit clothes for myself on and finally I can afford one but I am very shy about not knowing anything about the Fabulous Fit. Can anyone help me??? Granny Fanny
I also now have my very own sewing room that I have waited for 44 years for. I am in the process of turning our large den into my sewing craft room. Just finished moving everything into it out of a small spare bedroom I have been using for the past ten years, before then I shared space with a small dinning room, so this is like luxuary to me. Almost everything is still in boxes/ baskets and bags. Now comes the real hard part...getting organized. Again, HELP!! In my room will be my craft supplies, all sewing supplies inc. ironing board, cutting table that folds down, and supplies for my jewelry crafting and polymer clay designs I am learning to do and all my instructions books and sketches for designs in all the above. I do not know where to begin. HELP...HELP!!! Granny Fanny
My sewing interests are:
garment, home decor, quilting, embroidery
My sewing machine(s):
A 1980's Pfaff sewing machine I bought new and a Janome 9000 sew/embroidery machine. I also have a Janome four thread serger that I have had about 9-10 years now.
I am interested in patterns such as:
I have only used Butterick, McCalls, Simplicity and Vogue but want to experiment with patterns made for petite plus sizes and some wearable arts patterns for myself and daughter and G.daughter.

I am eager to try other brands especially ones designed just for short plus size mature bodies....are there any out there like me...short, dumpy, lumpy and bumpy gravity ravaged body....that have used any patters just for petite plus sizes?

Granny, fitting is hard. There are fitting helps out there you and your husband can do with duck tape.
There are several sites and Utube has movies of it. This would help you because it is your body.
