I am a major quilt lover... I like the history of quilts and own a few quilts. I do not quilt myself, but I have family and friends that do. Hence my interest has grown out of them!

Hello and welcome from Metairie, LA. I love to sew and am learning to quilt. Do you do all of your quilting and piecing by hand ? My great grandmother did all her quilting by hand but I think she did her piecing on a machine.

My name is an old name, from many years ago. It goes back to 1993 when I first got on the internet. Back then very few people new what the internet was, and I got involved in what I thought was the next big thing. I guess I was right.

Hello greenjelly. Do you have any quilts photos to post? Your play on words ("prowl") was clever, a little intimidating.lol It is snowing quite alot here today. Glad I am inside today. You said you like kaleidascope quilt patterns...Have yoou made any of Jenny Beyer's patterns? I think she mostly published patterns in book form, but I'm sure that you could check her books out at your local library. Happy quilting.

I have rescued a few from trash piles at the road and cannot believe that someone would throw them away when so much work and love went into the construction of them. One of them is very old as it has the cotton batting inside and needs a few repairs. I just haven't had time to research how to clean and repair it.

This video demonstrates how to fix / adjust / repair the timing of the hook on a sewing machine. If the thread from your needle isn't getting caught by the hook that rotates around, this video explains what to adjust to fix that. Requires some very basic tools and takes 15-30 minutes - maybe less.
