Jan, I have made several of these using the original "incorrect" instructions...they worked just fine and made a nice short sleeved shell. The revised instructions make the same thing as a big shirt or jacket with longer sleeves.

Bias top from 2 squares
This is the first time for me to post here so, hopefully, I do okay! Anyway, I saw on another sewing blog where a popular sewing magazine had an article on how to make a top out of 2 squares of fabric. The website has how to measure the squares (one is twice as large as the other) but not how to put them together. Alexia said… - Hello Jan, and welcome to the site. I am from Southeast Louisiana and mom of three, 22 yr son, and 18 yr old twin girls. I also work part time as a substitute teacher and wish I had more time to sew. It is my favorite pastime activity. On days like tody when I have no substitute assignments I will spend all afternoon at the sewing machine, neglecting other household chores just to sew. It is also my stress reliever and creative outlet.
