omg! I've had this pattern for a while but havent made it yet.I was afraid the gathers on the back would be too risque and sexy for me to wear to church,but i see now that in a print like you have,it'd be okay.

So neat. I have tile floors in my sewing room. I have taken over our living room and made it my sewing room. The lighting is better and we never do anything in the "living room" anyway. We have a middle room between the living and bedroom…

Seriously though... I have 3 in use and 2 antique machine and 4 kids (no antique children). I am predominantly a garment sewer but have been known to produce the occasional quilt or home dec item and do a little embroidery every now and then.
I have been sewing since I was 8ish and was in 4-H and continued with the sewing then. Believe it or not I hated home ec b/c we were forced to make little bags etc ( I was already making full outfits for myself at home). I am very lucky to have a new sewing room in the basement for all my toys and have doors I can close to keep eveyone out. Or open to let them in too.

cleaning up

cleaned up the sewing room today (well everything except for the fabric - but the rest is all organized) this is after the blitz of getting the evening gown done last month, still sweeping up bits of organza underlining all over the house. The current question is what to do now? I have no real wardrobe needs but lots of patterns and fabric to work with. hmmmmm....
