Thanks for the comment on the coat lining. Due to school all my projects are on hold, however with the semester finishing soon, I'll be sewing in a bit.

Oh! I did see a pic of a stuffed turkey from her but I thought it was a centerpiece! Glad you have the place-mat you needed for your mother! Now get some rest : )

Well, I never made the turkey placemats although I'm sure I could, and normaily I'd be happy to do so, but I'm going into the hospital for surgery tomorrow the 12th and I'm not sure how I'll be feeling the next week or so. Sorry, Lynne

Boy you're busy busy! I understand that extra $200. My husband didn't want our house either (though it was the only choice we had!). He complains about it still after almost 3 years.
I hope once you get settled in that you'll try to post a pic, It's incredibly easy! YOU CAN DO IT!

I'm in the same boat. That can be a lonely feeling. I don't know anyone here except my family which is an hour away. I think my life is too busy at the moment honestly, to contain many in-the-flesh friends at the moment so I hang out here a little whenever I get the chance : )
I didn't make these pumpkins but they sure were cute! I found them at Flickr. People post their pictures and if they aren't copy-written you can use them.

Joy, I am getting ready to do my first craft fair to sell some of my purses. I am a little excited and a little nervous, but ready to get started. Thanks for your input, Patty

Hi Joy - I have to admitt I "borrowed" the technique from the purse which is my profile picture. It was a pattern I bought about 4-5 years ago, and lent out and never got back, so I don't even know the name. I bought it at a quilt shop I visited. Seems like the picture on the pattern had fabric handles. It is fun to make - I use the gathering foot or ruffler to make the the ruffles on these purses. I have made several. Preparing and cutting the bias strips takes longer than actual sewing time!
