Well I finally got around to making myself a new dressing gown. As I mentioned when I blogged making my Bed Jacket (Feb 22nd 2013), my dressing gown is a dull boring plain green as it was all there was in the shop when I needed fleece to make one. Now there are lots of lovely patterns and colours I can buy online. I think I must have had a screw loose…

It's MIL's birthday at the end of this month, and when I asked what she would like, she said one of my aprons. When I said what do you want on it she surprised me by saying a Teddy!
I have done a Teddy for…

A few months ago I asked if we could recover the bench seat in my 1963 Chevrolet truck. We found a professionally renovated and recovered bottom part on e-bay, so the Other Half decided I could just recover the back to match as the padding was okay. It sort of matches, insomuchas it's a textured vinyl whereas the other was smooth. It took a bit more effort than making the sun visors, and I wish I could learn how to do it properly, but this is fine. It involved…

Thank you, I enjoy making bags I am going to make a few of my different styles to sell at the local craft fair. I just started making some of my clothes to try my hand at it, I also love thrifting to find items and make them my own. I will check out the Sewing Purses site soon.

Kiki Polglase said… Hi again, Karen,
Just went totally mad and posted photos of a cross section of the sort of bags I make. Went a bit wrong on detail and password after that.....not sure if it worked.
So you come from Britain ? I'm originally from Germany, lived here in England for 43 years now......
Off out into the sunshine with my dog now.
Happy sewing and thanks again !

Kiki Polglase said… Hi Karen,
Such a nice surprise to hear from you and thank you for the encouragement !
I love reading and browsing your posts - all such 'good stuff' - also constantly learning from it.
Hate to admit that I've got a bit of a problem with anything a bit more involved on the computer. Seem to go into a brainless panic mode......
Must look how I can become a more 'VISIBLE' member !
Happy sewing,
Kiki ( AlikiBags )
Beverly Jane said… Wow, I just saw what you have been making. They are all awesome. You have inspired me to continue trying. I want to do the fusing/applique so much but I don't think I can turn the edges of the tiny leaves. This method seems like it might be doable for my aging fingers. Thanks so much Karen. Bev
