- About Me:
- My first sewing project was a bean bag, I made when I was six. I started making my Halloween costumes after my moms sewing machine up and died. So for five years I made everything by hand, and no pattern. For my 18th birthday/graduation I got my sewing machine. I got a dress form when I was 19, and had no idea how to use it. And now after trial and error (and Project Runway) I can use my dress form, I have started pattern making. I have only copied one, and drafted two skirts. I hope This site will teach me more.

- What type(s) of sewing machine(s) do you have?
- MY machine is a Singer. I have named it Marla. But I have inherited two antique machines from my great aunt.
- What brands of patterns have you tried?
- Mine. But if I need to Buy one I just look for what is closest to what I have in mind. I'm not picky.

So I will start off, By telling you that I have attempted to quilt before. With disastrous results. I was helping a friend make a baby quilt for a friend of hers. My thought going in was “I make clothes all the time and that is all curved lines and darts, I can sew a straight line.” After all was cut and pinned, I am all ready to sew this sucker together. This video demonstrates how to fix / adjust / repair the timing of the hook on a sewing machine. If the thread from your needle isn't getting caught by the hook that rotates around, this video explains what to adjust to fix that. Requires some very basic tools and takes 15-30 minutes - maybe less.
