Hello, Kimberly.
I am up to alot of this right now. I am trying to organize my work space. I would like to call it my studio, but its not there yet. I have three grandchildren who I love to do things with. Two of them are in school now so it will be harder to do things with them. I sew clothing and garments, quilt, do scrapbooking, and love to take photos and do genealogy. I love the history of any thing, I get that from my grandmother, her son, my uncle, loves history also. I don't know if that makes it genetic or learned behavior, but I do love history. Currently I am working on bumper pads for my youngest granddaughter, I have a superhero quilt to get quilted for my grandson(who is 5), and I started a flower appliqued-patchwork quilt for my oldest granddaughter. They are the focus of my world right now. They grow up so fast!
Hey Kimberly! I had the opportunity to view your slide show...Nice work! I really like the table runner you showed.I am curious what are the dimensions of the lap quilts you make? Repetition not my fav either, repetition
not my fav either...LOL
Look forward to seeing more, here is a button pic that works with your page colors enjoy!!
Jeri
6'5" WOW ! He's a big one lol, takes alot of fabric to keep him covered...
I am curious about your sewing machine, how old it it and what do you like and dislike about it.I maybe looking for a new one over the summer.
I would like one that has no problems with sewing denim and canvas, vinyl and of course standard fabrics.Do you have any suggestions for me??? One with a few tricks would be nice also... It's all new to me and I want to spend my money wisely on a great general purpose machine.
hey,
just read your comment on jeri's page. my quilts have the same size as yours :) i think it's because i don't want to stipple a bigger quilt, and i only have so much patience to work on the same color scheme for a while.
HI YA Kimberly!!
Thanks sew,sew much lol... for the website info you shot my way :-)
I'll look into it real soon ,the weather is in between rain so need to have some quality time with the dogs,my four-legged kids! We've been a bit cabin crazy and I think they despise my computer now LOL... They don't quite understand why I don't wanna walk in rain or thru MUD.
You look like you are well on your way! Your projects look great. I especially like the fabric selection in your first photo. Great choices. The project (photo #5) you made has an interesting pattern to it. I have never seen it before. Is it your own. I like it. Is it a runner or the start of a quilt? Nice work.
Thankyou. The one you like was part a round robin endeavor my sisters, sister-in-law and I did. The one with the kittens was my sister-in-law's. She did the center square and the rest of us did one round each after that. My round is the cat round...the cats are playing with the string of yarn. It is one of my favorites also.
Your runner was a success...I always go with my instincts when it comes to design, accidental or intentional. I haven't yet found any thing so ugly or horrible that I can't live with it. I have found that "One needs to trust oneself". Besides stitch ripping bites. lol Although I had a friend that I once told that, in this case, "Jack, the stitch ripper" is our friend. He is there to help us. A little morbid sounding, but it just rolled of my tongue. That's how the crazies get their names...sad, its almost poetic. But meant it as humerous, a play on words. Have a great day.
